Richard Suckling studied at Cambridge School of Art and now lives in the fishing port of Newlyn in Cornwall, close to Land's End. His work is currently showing in several West Country galleries (see links for further details) and he sells unframed paintings directly from the internet. He predominately paints land and sea scapes in soft pastels and would be happy to consider private commissions. He also writes articles on his passion for the soft pastel medium, which have been published both on line, in The Artist magazine (UK) and The Plein Air magazine (USA). This year's challenge has seen Richard teaching classes in the use of soft pastels, both for individuals and classes, including demonstrations and plans to develop this further in the coming year. If you are interested in the classes or demonstrations, please contact him through the site or via his facebook page.
These web pages show only a selection of his work, so please do not hestiate to contact Richard if you would like to see what is currently on his easel and recently completed, ready to find a new home. Prices are dependent on size and framing requirements. As a guide, his work sells for between £250 to £1500. Unframed sketches and plein air studies start from £99.00, excluding P&P, and he does send worldwide.
